Why Bondi Sands?

The fundamental reason behind the Bondi Sands creation is simple – all of us deserve the right to a natural looking, affordable tan. Self tans should look like they were made naturally, from spending long blissful summers at Bondi. They also shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Why Bondi Sands?

When did Bondi Sands begin?

After the co-founders spent years developing Bondi Sands into the quality it is today, three products were initially launched in Australia in 2012. Since then, the brand has progressively entered the New Zealand, UK, European and US markets. Over the years, the product range has been researched and developed, expanding the self tan collection and adding ranges of suncare, skincare and cosmetics. Innovation is highly valued at Bondi Sands. Because of this, many world first products have been created – including Liquid Gold, One Hour Express Foam, Suncare, Body Care, Tanning Accessories, Men’s Self-Tan, and Self Tan Eraser.

How did Bondi Sands start?

An opportune string of events led to the brand that is Bondi Sands after co-founders Shaun Wilson and Blair James met at Blair’s tanning salon. Following market changes (legislative, consumer awareness and behaviour) and a gap in the market due to existing low quality, unnatural looking self-tanners, the co-founders embarked on a journey of research and discovery to develop a quality, natural tanning formula that resembled the quintessential bronzed Aussie tan. And, based on its global popularity, we would have to say the pair got it right!
